The Wyoming Territory was established on July 25, 1868.

Wyoming overcame the obstacles of low population and of being the only territory in the U.S. giving women the right to vote, and the United States admitted Wyoming into the Union as the 44th state on July 10, 1890.

There are many places to search for answers to your Wyoming genealogy questions. If you know what is available, you can make much better use of your time and effort in finding out all you can about your Wyoming ancestors in the US. Here is where to start some of your searching.

The Wyoming State Archives publishes a wonderful list of various state records and other sources to use in researching your ancestors in Wyoming. Most of this list does not have links to these sources, but it still provides you with a wide-ranging series of resources to consider. It is a list of the materials available at the Archives itself.
