We have gathered together a list of those resources we are aware of for the most common resources, and also some of the less common places to look for information about your family. So, help yourself to the information below, and go hunting.

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services is responsible for the vital records for the state after the state began recording them. For births and deaths, that means records before 1911 have to be searched in county records. The same is true for marriages and divorces before 1958. Check this site for details on obtaining copies and other information.

One source is the Kentucky Historical Society.

Also, try the University of Kentucky Libraries which bills itself as "A guide to genealogical research resources with an emphasis on Kentucky and resources available at UK and nearby libraries."
