Resources for Your Genealogy Research in the District of Columbia (DC)

Where to Look? How to Find It?

It is important to remember that the District of Columbia was formed by land that came from existing states, Maryland and Virginia. As such, your family roots may lie in one of those states, and you may have to research there as well as in Washington, DC.
